members. With an eclectic line-up of instruments which includes
banjo, guitar, fiddle, saxophone and double bass,Tupelo's sound is
fresh and unique in today's world of music. The sound could be
described as an acoustic 'melting pot' of different sounds,
influences, eras and ideas, as elements of Country, Bluegrass,
Rock & Roll and even Jazz can be heard in their music. The band has been keeping busy over the past year making a
name for themselves on the Irish music scene. Appearances at
several festivals including The Cork Jazz Festival, Kilkenny Rhythm
& Roots, and playing support to some of music's biggest acts
including Imelda May, Damien Dempsey, and Booker T have
further enhanced their reputation on the scene. Having a top 10
single in the Irish Charts back in October, outselling world
famous artists such as Whitney Houston have also significantly
raised the profile of the band. 2010 promises to be a great year
for Tupelo with the lads releasing their debut album, 'Dirty
Money' in the summer and havingbeen nominated for Meteor's
Most Promising Act Award. 'Our favourite rootsy rockers' HOT PRESS
